Still Breastfeeding after a year ?

You deserve a round of applause Moms! Give yourself a pat on a back for all the pain you’ve been through the whole time. However, there is always a question on your mind, for how long, isn’t it? All the media around us, social sites, doctors to Health visitors everybody would suggests to continue breastfeeding as long as possible. But if you are a working mother then it is nearly impossible to carry on with breastfeeding for a long period of time whereas, for stay at home mother it is deliberately expected from you to breastfeed your baby.  So, the question is are you simply fulfilling their expectations or it’s your own decision to breastfeed? Differentiate between these two doubts and follow your heart.

Even some stay at home mothers won’t be able to continue breastfeeding because of several complications that comes with it such as low milk production, mastitis, sore & crack nipples, bleeding, etc. Therefore, it’s ok, it’s ok to choose the other way round until & unless your baby is healthy and getting enough nutrition. It doesn’t mean you are a bad Mom, let people talk, it shouldn’t affect you and the decision you’ve taken. It’s totally up to you to make a choice and you should be proud of it.

For the Mothers who breastfed their little one for more than a year, the challenges are infinitive. Basically, you are breastfeeding a toddler, your little one is not a baby anymore and you might not notice it unless you are told or scrutinise by others about it. But the little thing they don’t know about is the abundance health benefits you and your little one acquires from it.
