Summer Food Ideas for Busy Mamas
Hello, super mamas! Is the summer heat really taking a toll on you? You are a busy mama and this humid heat has really got on your nerves, doesn’t it? Don’t worry, I’ve got few summer food ideas to help you cool down.
Overnight oats:
It’s a popular breakfast recipe nowadays for busy people, especially super mamas. Oats are rich in fibre and keep you energised and full during peak morning hour.
Simply prepare it the day before and refrigerate it overnight. It makes the oats creamy and delicious.
You simply have to mix the oatmeal with milk, Yogurt, chia seeds, fruits, berries, maple syrup in a cup and leave it to sit in the refrigerator overnight.
Homemade smoothies:
A glass of filling healthy and delicious smoothies is the recipe for strong mothers. Try to include veggies as well for the extra boost of energy. You won’t even notice the taste of veggies in it simply because the sweetness from the fruits is overpowering.
Perhaps you can even offer this to your toddler. It’s packed with essential nutrients. You never know they might like it too.
Homemade Ice lollies:
Make your own ice lollies instead of buying outside. It’s quite simple and you can share it with your little ones as well.
Simply mix Yogurt, banana, coconut or any fruits of your choice. Place it in an Ice lollies mould and set it in a freezer.

Yogurts with fruits:
It’s such a quick and easy snack to prepare. Simply add Yogurt with fruits of your choice in a bowl and you are done.
Cold meals:
If you can’t eat warm foods, simply make varieties of pasta salad, cold soup, sandwiches, veggies or chicken wraps or simply bake your foods and let it cool down until you’re ready to eat.
Fruits and Vegetables:
The main summer food of all time is fresh ‘fruits and vegetables’. However, include more water content fruits and veggies such as cucumber, celery, tomatoes, lettuce, oranges, pineapple, watermelon or simply throw them all together to make a salad.
It makes you refresh and hydrated throughout and helps you to stop feeling lethargic and sluggish.
Lassi:
Make a lassi by simply adding water, Yogurt, sugar and spices. It should have a thin consistency pretty much like water but not thick as smoothies. You can choose to add some fruits such as mangoes or bananas to make a fruit lassi.

Lemon Water:
Drink freshly squeezed cold lemon water by adding sugar or salt as per your preference. Lemon water makes you sweat even more in the summer heat which makes your skin soft and clean. Simply Water:
Drink a glass of water whenever you are hot throughout the day. You can even flavour a water by simply adding sweet fruits or lemon in it.
