Daughters are a blessing
Daughters are a blessing to every parent. I am quite fortunate that I have a daughter.
Her innocent eyes, sparkling laughter, endearing walk, babbling talk always makes my heart melt. Over-emotional and expressive with all hugs and kisses and as loud as screaming machine when angry. She is one of a kind. I am talking about my daughter.
Having a daughter reminisces me of my childhood days who was carefree, innocent, playful and mischievous at times. Life teaches us so many things along the way. It moulds us to fight against the odds, makes us endurable and a responsible person.
Especially with girls, who always needs an approval of their parents, goes through so much in life. So, it becomes a huge responsibility of us being a parent to never let them feel any smaller or invaluable compared to others.
Mostly in Asian culture, marriage comes quite early for daughters. They do not get adequate time to spend their life being a daughter in their own home.
The grief of separation stays with them forever. The world changes around them pretty quick. She becomes matured and more responsible very early in her life.
In life, she goes through so much such as failed marriage, miscarriage, infertility, rape, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, gender inequality and much more.
She is a possession if she’s educated and excels her work but a shame if she’s illiterate and jobless. It’s unfortunate that these things are normal even today.
When you give birth to a baby, you’d never differentiate if it’s a girl or boy. Your way of loving a son or a daughter remains the same. However, even today some parents feel daughter’s a burden to the family.
My love and respect for daughters have grown enormous because of these stereotypical societies that still exist. She shouldn’t be loved anything lesser than the sons.
We shouldn’t forget that today’s daughters are tomorrow’s mothers. They have an inherent quality to nurture and love. Daughters are the blessing to the whole mankind. Their existence makes the world a better place to live.
One day she’ll get married and have her own life and family. So, make the most out of it with your daughter when she is there with you because time flies.
Therefore, love your daughters and value her, not only because she is a girl and a daughter but she is the gift of your love.
