The Changes in Life after a Baby
You might have heard your elders said to you millions of times about the changes in life after a baby. But you’ll never understand it better until you’ll have your own. Obviously, things will change, your life will modify, however, it also depends on how you’ll take it.
Here are some of the things that happen when you have a baby:
PHYSICAL CHANGES:
The first thing that never stays the same, is your BODY. Obviously! you have given birth to a human being. So, the whole process of deflating swore tummy inside out will, of course, takes a long long time.
You will give up on your HAIR totally. I am still struggling to get my previous long luscious hair back.
How can I not talk about SKIN?? The texture and colour might not be the same as before. The stretch marks are there and it’s ok but the skin problems?? Like getting rashes, allergies, sensitivity to everything.
Your WEIGHT though! Is it ever coming down?
MENTAL CHANGES:
You might not realise for the first 2-3 months after having a baby but believe me, the mental changes will take place sooner or later.
It is when you start to feel the existence of another person in your home other than you and your spouse. You will be confused about the whole situation for some time until you get used to it.
EMOTIONAL CHANGES:
Your feelings start to kick you very hard like never before. You’ll see a different person in yourself that you didn’t know even existed.
Your level of anger will rise higher than mountains and your power of giving and demanding love will get deeper than the ocean. So, holding tears won’t help in this matter.
RELATIONSHIP CHANGES:
Is there any relationship at all? Don’t get me wrong here! However, you will perhaps prefer your child’s company more than your spouse’s.
On the other hand, your child won’t be sharing Mommy with anyone. So, get your hands off Daddy!
ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES:
Your surroundings are not the same anymore. Your favourite poster on the wall will be replaced with your child’s paintings, nursery rhymes and 123 songs.
You will have a ‘family time’ watching cartoons, listening to nursery rhymes and visiting soft play, playground, museums and zoo.
PRIORITY CHANGES:
Your child’s happiness comes prior to yours. This might reflect on your everyday life from what to eat to where to go. Likewise, little sacrifices also count here and there such as your sleep, time, your interests, hobbies, etc.
Simply, your life will never be the same anymore. It is a massive transformation that you should be aware of before having a baby. Your child watches your every action and learns from you which will foster a sense of maturity in you.
You can’t escape the truth of being a parent by ignoring and running away from the reality. It is a lifetime duty to nurture and rear your child that you have chosen to bring in to this world.
So, you have to embrace these variations of the life and be content in it. It teaches us to become selfless and be happy for the one we love; changes are inevitable and it shouldn’t stop you from confronting it.
Our youth, beauty, energy and freedom are short lived. If you expect more, you’re gonna fall hard. So, with every little change, you should also accept the consequences that come with it.
Nevertheless, the amount of happiness and joy that your child brings in your life is far more precious than anything else. Even though your life will never be the same again, it adds the value and makes your life worth living for.
Thank you.
